8th Grade Course Guide

8th grade students are required to take the following courses:

• English: 2 Semesters

• Math: 2 Semesters
  • Please see the Middle School Math Pathways document for details on advanced placement math courses.
• Science: 2 Semesters
• Social Studies: 2 Semesters
• Physical Ed: 1 Semesters (8th grade may choose an additional semester of PE as an elective)

Electives: These are semester classes except where noted.

• Beginning Design & Modeling 1 Semester
• Advanced Design & Woodshop (Student must have previously taken beginning Design & Modeling)
• Beginning Automation Robotics 1 Semester
• Advanced Automation Robotics (Student must have previously taken Beginning Automation and Robotics) 1 Semester
• Beginning Game and App Design 1 Semester
• Advanced Game and App Design (Student must have previously taken Beginning Game and App Design) 1 Semester
• Beginning Art 1 Semester
• Advanced Art (Student must have previously taken Beginning Art) 1 Semester
• Leadership 8 1 Semester
• PE – Health & Fitness Education 1 Semester
• Yearbook (Must apply and be accepted to this limited program) *
