Academic Support
We have multiple academic supports for struggling students, or those who just need a little boost to get their grades up.
- Email or call your child's teacher first. They may have suggestions of what might work best for your student.
- Access Time is held at Northwood twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is a 1/2 hour carved out of the day where students go to a specific teacher for help, or to make up missing work. This method has been very effective in getting students caught up when they miss assignments.
- Homework Club is offered on Tuesdays from 2:30 to 4:45 in room 209. This is run by a certificated teacher who can help your child with difficult concepts and give them guidance on how to get missing work turned in.
- National Honor Society tutors are available at Mt. Spokane High School on Monday and Wednesday from 2:40 to 4:00 in the Student Services office across from the main office.
- Boys and Girls Club meets at the Pittsburgh Learning Center (Old Northwood). Check their website for registration and availability.
